ok people tell you - but Chicago is really some kinda cold. 13 degrees w/strong wind. Lots of fur coats on the street and trust me it would have felt GOOD to have one. Gay and I had a delightful talk on the flight, we met Cam, ate a lovely lunch, drank hot Siberian tea and really enjoyed the first day of the BoardSource conference. Wonderful insightful plenary by Thomas Tierney on building leadership in a era of leadership deficit. The Second City (who launched the likes of Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd) was the evening entertainment. They did some improv that was really so funny, I can't even imagine the last time I saw live comedy. I'm totally looking forward to tomorrow.

beautiful dramatic sky tonight, this totally doesn't capture it, but I was driving the car. Busy with art emergencies at NIH and getting things together for my SAH trip to Chicago Sunday. Great meeting with Herman Miller earlier in the week and I ran into my good buddy from Vanderbilt, Donna Glassford at the Portrait Gallery today, such a small world and such a beautiful gallery!
