VCCA day one

It has been amazing.
I literally have seen more cows than people and have only spoken with the staff. I adore the quiet and the sense of freedom that runs deep here. (Although now, having not spoken to anyone, I’m a little nervous about going to dinner).
Drove under a beautiful full moon with the city lights shining on the Potomac, wish I could have blogged such an exquisite image but I was just too anxious to get down the road.
I got to Charlottesville early, although some nut was flashing their lights at me, I didn’t know.. someone recognize my car.. Isabel maybe?? dead cat on my bumper?? donno. We installed Cameron’s show and I was at the VCCA by 10ish. Unpacked and working in the studio before 11.

It is heaven, very hard for me to even imagine what I’ll be able to create. My studio is glorious, at the end of the building (I want to say north but, who knows). I sorted out all of the collage images and started two pieces. I have a painting area and encaustic and all of my photographs and drawings are spread out on the floor. I even have a napping bed in the studio… sweet!! Which I took advantage of, but I will tell you when I woke up I laid there trying to figure out where the hell I was.
